Identity Exploration
“In the social jungle of human existence, there is no feeling of being alive without a sense of identity.”
— Erik Erikson
Every human being carries a unique fingerprint—an identity shaped by the cultures we come from, the values we hold, and the experiences that shape us along the way. Identity isn’t fixed; it’s dynamic, layered, and constantly evolving.
Our sense of self can be influenced by race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, family roles, language, immigration history, and so much more. Sometimes we feel deeply rooted in certain parts of ourselves; other times, we may feel disconnected, questioned, or in conflict with them.
In therapy, I invite you to explore your identity with openness and curiosity—without pressure to define yourself in any one way. Whether you're clarifying who you are, reclaiming parts of yourself, or simply learning to make peace with your story, I’m here to support that process.
So, how do you identify?
Let’s begin there—and see where the journey takes us.
“What you have experienced, no power on earth can take from you.”
-Victor E. Frankl
This quote speaks to the profound truth that our personal experiences—our struggles, triumphs, and everything in between—are intrinsic to who we are. They shape us, define us, and hold deep meaning. No matter what challenges you’ve faced or continue to face, the essence of your journey cannot be erased or minimized.
In therapy, I am committed to honoring and witnessing your story with the utmost respect. Your experiences have power. They are real. And they belong to you. My role is to create a safe space where we can explore and understand them, helping you reclaim your narrative and move forward with the strength that’s already within you.
